It all began as a love affair with the big green egg.

Rob spent countless hours (and months) perfecting his meat-smoking skills and formulating his distinctive, award-winning sauce.

At the urging of friends and family who {very willingly} feasted on his culinary creations for years, Rob decided to launch a food truck emblazoned with the name: Red Eye BBQ.

What had started with one man and his green egg out back, quickly grew into a successful barbecue business with an enthusiastic following and award recognition.

After a short stint in Hawaii, the Nelson family is back in Central Florida to take another step forward with the overwhelming popular Red Eye business.

Hi there. We're Rob & Angie Nelson and we are the founders of Red Eye Grill. We live in Clermont with our two sons - Jake (9) and Michael (5). They're the official dessert critics for the restaurant and they take their jobs very seriously. :-)

This is our story and we are honored that you've chosen to join us in writing this next chapter as restaurateurs.
